Magenta Moment

15″ x 30, | Oil on canvas

Original Paining by Nanci McCune

I witnessed for only a moment. One night while waiting for the sunset, I didn’t think the sky was going to be very interesting. For that reason, I didn’t take my cell phone outside.

A few moments later, I glanced up at the sky. Those former dull colored clouds had turned brilliant magenta. By the time I got my cell phone to take a photo, the clouds had returned to their former dull color.

This experience, like many moments in our lives, was fleeting. Often times we assume we’ll have time to do the things we want to do. But that’s not always the case. No one really knows how many moments they’ll have. We don’t know how many moments we’ll  have with loved ones. Humans like to believe we have control. We don’t.  So if in a moment, you have the desire to tell someone you’re sorry, you love them or appreciate them or miss them, take the time in that moment, because  a moment like that may never come again.
